Cons: Doesn't do tomatoes; barely does radishes and celery
• The Cuisinart Contour Ceramic 6" chef's knife looks cool. I was actually planning to buy a 7" serrated knife, but this one claimed to be super sharp. And it claimed to never need sharpening (since it can't be, because it's ceramic). So I thought, "Hmm. Maybe this will do tomatoes, like other neat knives I've seen on TV." Well, this one doesn't do as good a job as my tried-and-true Global knives. It's just OK. The blade seems thick when you cut, you know? Except for the cool factor of having a white blade, I'm not that impressed. I'd rather use a metal knife. It's safe to say that this is my first – and likely my last – ceramic knife purchase. Thinking of buying one of these? Give it a miss.
