Hang Ten Fabric Shower Curtain

Pros: Fun pattern with distressed, retro surfing theme, wrinkle free after hanging a few weeks
Cons: None

• Bed, Bath & Beyond's Hang Ten fabric shower curtain is a marvel of good, clean fun. If you're inspired by the beach, fascinated by surfing or enjoy reminders of simpler times, this shower curtain is for you. Most beach-themed shower curtains feature static, repeated patterns. This design offers fewer repeated elements, so you see something new almost every time you see it. Other available accessories: soap dispenser, tissue holder, shower curtain hooks, etc. This is the best-ever shower curtain for children, teens and adults. Our family sure enjoys it!

Jordana sweet n' smooth lip balm in Vanilla Cake

Pros: Slightly moisturizing, not sticky, pleasant scent, very inexpensive
Cons: Seems "thin" as far as feel; must be reapplied often, colorless

• Just curious to see what this lip balm was like, I bought some Jordana sweet n' smooth lip balm in Vanilla Cake in a grocery store for about $1. It performs like a $1 lip balm should. It's very basic and barely does the job, but it's nice for a change. This particular "flavor" goes on clear. The scent is very faint and I'd have dialed up the fragrance a little if I was in charge. Would I buy it again? Well, I already have. I bought one in red – the only color that was semi-normal. It is called Succulent Cherry and must be applied lightly over dull colors in order to reach the right level of light hue for me. Do I plan to buy any others? No. The other colors look fake.

Super Sharpie Twin Tip marker

Pros: Excellent permanent writing coverage; nice dark ink, doesn't dry easily
Cons: As you know, if you accidentally write on a surface by mistake, it's tough to clean off

• Sharpie pens are one of the greatest inventions ever made. They're reliable, consistent and really do the job well. When I say that, I'm referring to the Super Sharpie Twin Tip and standard Sharpie markers. I can't say the same for the ultra fine or Magnum. Both of those seem to dry out faster. I used the magnum on my moving boxes. It didn't write as clearly as I'd like, and ran out of ink faster than expected. The ultra fine models have a nice, clean line but seem to run out of ink quickly, too. For most uses, I'll stick with my favorites: Super Sharpie Twin Tip and standard!

Philosophy Sugar Sprinkles Funnel Cake lip gloss

Pros: Rich, thick formula infused with tiny pink sparkles; great fragrance, excellent gift
Cons: Slightly sticky, almost colorless, somewhat pricey

• I can't say enough good things about Philosophy Sugar Sprinkles Funnel Cake lip gloss. It's rich, thick formula doesn't have to be applied as often as other lip glosses. I like it when a lip gloss has a little color; this one offers a slightly pink cast, but is almost clear. Although the product is somewhat expensive, it seems to last quite a while. The fragrance reminds me of Brach's Neapolitan Coconut Sundae candies. What does it remind you of?

Beware of AT&T U-verse

7/25/2013

Picture
Pros: Lower prices through bundling (cable, phone, internet)
Cons: 27 hours on the phone dealing with AT&T U-verse over the past 6 months; poor service, extra charges and too many assorted hassles to count.
• If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't touch AT&T U-verse with a 20-foot pole! Numerous technical difficulties, blaring on-hold music and aggravations of every description characterize this "interesting" company. Don't give in to its advertising ploys. Avoid AT&T U-verse at all costs!
