Swing-A-Way hand-held can opener

I imagine everyone in America has one or more Swing-A-Way can openers. Even if we have electric can openers, camping can openers or fancy "remove the full lid" versions, this model is a tried-and-true classic. The original wall-mounted model came on the scene in the 1930s, and the hand-held model was invented in 1955. The other day I was at Bed Bath & Beyond and decided to buy a new Swing-A-Way. WOW, what a difference it makes to have a new one! Compared to my well-worn, decades-old versions, this one makes can opening a breeze! Invest a few dollars in a new one and see what I mean. Five stars.

Purina Beyond dog food

Our small dog has a hard time eating most dog foods, because the kibble "gauge" size too large. We tried this food because of its various claims (superfood blend, grain free, etc.) and gorgeous packaging. My dog also seems to eat this food more enthusiastically than others we've tried, which is a plus. (I used to have to persuade her to eat.) We've tried two flavors so far, the sweet potato and beef & egg recipe. I'm glad there are lots of flavor choices. My local superstore only carries a few of them, but there are enough options to have some variety. Purina's Beyond dog food is sort of expensive, but since my dog likes it, it's healthy and is on the high side of affordable, I'll continue to buy it for now. 5 stars.

Paper Mate Profile Elite pen

Here's a pen you'll want to try: The Paper Mate Profile Elite. It's a "regular" point, so depending on the pressure you use, you can yield a finer or thicker line. What I like is its basic comfort. The grip is slightly padded and that section of the pen is somewhat thicker than some. The ink doesn't "glop" often. It's just an all-around nice, affordable ball-point. Note that the standard Profile is virtually all plastic, while the Profile Elite features faux chrome accents and a more durable clip. I prefer the chrome model, although unfortunately, the "chrome" can degrade over time. Yes, I plan to keep buying these while they're still available. (Pen companies change designs pretty often.) 4 stars.
