Dawn Ultra Platinum Power Clean

Remember the old tag line, "Dawn takes grease out of your way!"? Well, now that phosphates in dish detergent have been banned in many states, Dawn has lost much of its appeal. I do like Dawn Ultra Platinum, because it's good for soaking dishes. However, the label at the top is misleading: "3X more everyday grease cleaning power*" and the asterisk text reads, "Per drop based on cleaning ingredients vs. non-ultra Joy." Well, let's compare apples to apples, guys! I've been reading that if you want to get phosphates back (true cleaning power and degreasing), buy dishwashing detergent from a restaurant supply store – in another state. 4 stars.

When a family member or guest has a stuffy nose, here's a fun way to humidify the air. Crane's Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier is sort of unwieldy when it comes to handling, but it works well and delivers just the right amount of "cool steam." If you have wood floors, I recommend placing towels on the floor around the unit. Four stars.

Sunbeam Sonic Egg quells barking dogs

If you have suburban neighbors with barking dogs, you'll want this product. I place it near the top of the fence where the neighbor can't see it, and it sends an irritating, high-frequency signal out when the offending dogs bark. It doesn't work 100% of the time, but boy has it made a difference! The dogs used to bark for hours when the neighbor wasn't there, but now the dogs are usually either quiet or will whine for a while and stop. Uses one 9v battery, which needs to be changed around every 3 weeks with heavy use. Change the battery when the "egg-trained" dogs start barking again. Range is 50 feet. 4 stars.
